Skin-Loving Hemp Smoothie Recipe

I’ve always loved a good smoothie, it’s such a great way to quickly get a LOAD of nutrients into your every-day diet and I will often quickly make one if I’m having a busy day, or just as an afternoon snack. I have finally perfected the most delish, dairy free, good for you smoothie that has really helped my skin heal after a nasty breakout recently and I thought it would be great to share with you guys as it contains some very interesting, but amaaaazing ingredients!

This smoothie is dairy free (not vegan, it includes marine collagen) and full of skin food ingredients to get that plump, glowwy, happy skin.

Banana berry has always been my favourite smoothie flavour, but I’ve added in coconut water as it’s high in electrolytes and baby spinach to get an extra round of greens in each day without noticing (you can’t even taste them). Spinach is full of iron which is great for people like me who are prone to iron deficiency, I’ve also added the marine collagen as it contains vitamin C and helps to promote healthy and hydrated skin, nails and hair as well as nourishing your gut health.

I am OBSESSED with adding in cold pressed hemp oil as there are so many fantastic skin benefits! Hemp oil is rich in omega 3 & 6 and helps to balance hormone levels, it will rehydrate dry skin and rebalance oily skin while preventing skin congestion all at the same time. It’s also anti-inflammatory and helps with healing so is a great supplement to take if you’re struggling with breakouts, scarring or redness! Hemp oil doesn’t contain any THC, however I do notice that it gives an immediate relief to the physical symptoms I receive from anxiety (tightness in my chest, unable to relax), I’ve really noticed that after taking this smoothie each day I feel much more calm and less anxious which is such a relief during those stressy work days!

I prefer my smoothies to be dairy free as you can’t even taste the non-dairy milk, so I add some almond coconut milk to thicken it up with some ice so that it’s lovely and chilled.

Pop all of these ingredients into a blender:

  • 1 chopped banana

  • 1 cup of frozen berries

  • 2 cups of coconut water

  • 2 handfuls of baby spinach

  • 1 cup (the cup that comes with the product) of Two Islands Co vanilla collagen powder

  • 1 tablespoon Tribeca Skin Tonics Super Skin Cold Pressed Hemp Oil

  • 3/4 cups of almond coconut milk

  • 3 ice cubes
